What is TVP?
TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) is an excellent protein source that is easy to store and use. TVP is made from soy flour that has had the soy oil extracted. It is cooked under pressure, then extruded and dried. TVP is high in fiber and low in fat, making it ideal for food storage and everyday use. Because TVP is not made from meat, it does not run the same contamination risk from bacteria such as E. Coli and Salmonella. TVP is soy based and perfect for those on a vegetarian diet.
Add Bacon TVP into your recipe to partially or completely replace bacon. To replace 1 lb. of bacon, soak 2 ½ c of Bacon TVP in 2 c of water until tender. Drain any excess water.

Temperature: Storing THRIVE at a high temperature can significantly increase the speed that calories and vitamins will degrade over time. In the correct storage container, low-moisture foods such as THRIVE can be stored at room temperature or cooler (75 degrees Fahrenheit or lower) and remain nutritious and edible for years. Our stated shelf life assumes that the product will be stored in optimal conditions.
Humidity: The effects of humidity on a closed can are caused by heat and very similar to the effects of high temperature (see above). High humidity can corrode the cans and in some cases even cause the cans to leak. Areas with high humidity can reduce the opened shelf life of the product. As humidity varies with location please use your own discretion to prevent possible sickness from eating spoiled food.
Damaged Container: Minor dents in the center of the can are usually just a cosmetic issue. However, a can that has been dented near or on a seam can have a compromised air-tight seal and allow oxygen to enter the can. If this is the case we recommend using the dented can within the specified opened shelf life, rather than closed.
The best way to maintain the highest quality of your THRIVE products is to take care of them. If you intend on storing your food for the sealed shelf life, store the cans in a place that is not open to elements such as water, light, and air. Take care of it. Don't expose it unnecessarily to the elements. Also, be sure to keep the temperature and humidity low and even. Under these proper storing situations your THRIVE will maintain its delicious taste, natural coloring, and proper nutrients.

love the nice crunch
I really like these better than any bacon bits I have every used..
These will stay in my q so I will always have some on hand.
Now when I need bacon for a recipe it is right in my cabinet.very good.
Has food dyes
I am disappointed that I did not read the labels carefully enough. This has food dye in it. Otherwise, it tastes just like Bac-O-Bits and is a good value for your money.
I went to bingo with my wife today. I had some bacon in a small container and put them on some nachos w/cheese sauce. They sure changed the flavor of the nachos (no peppers) for the better. I guess that I need to introduce the snack bar to the idea.
Not My Favorite
I have very sensitive tastebuds and I am somewhat of a foodie, so bear that in mind, but this tastes like fake bacon bits to me. I think one child put exactly into words what my exact feelings were "this tastes like dog treats". This doesn't taste like real bacon, to me. I have not cooked with it, so maybe the flavor would be more authentic than just straight out of the can.
I could eat these by the spoonfulls!
Being vegetarian, I already stick to buying similar vegetable protein type bacon bits like McCormick. These are such a great deal for your money and taste so much better! They arent as hard and yet still have a nice crunch!
I like it in my omelets. I also like the crunchy texture. I think it would be good on salads and to flavor vegetables. I like the convenience. It also adds fiber to my food.
